Active Protection

Linnos multi-segment LED displays use an active linear current limiting circuit, giving excellent current control to the LEDs over a wide input voltage range. This circuit technology extends the LEDs lifetime compared to more traditional methods of current control, maximising the displays lifetime and efficiency even in harsh climates and conditions.

Energy saving

The use of PWM dimming and a smart brightness control system ensures Linnos displays are more energy efficient and non-light polluting compared with many other similar systems.

Smart brightness control reduces output brightness as ambient light falls below a set level. The brightness is then stepped down in a timed manner which keeps the light level from the display in balance with dusk light levels.

Digital filtering of the light sensor is capable of detecting the difference between intermittent low light levels (such as shadows from passing large vehicles and clouds) and dark day, dusk and night time scenarios.

Design and Form

The unique visual form of the digits is not only distinctive but also efficient in design. Employing careful use of symmetry in LED placement and multi-segment design means the digits have a balanced light output while also keeping the LED count per sq. cm low. The design keeps visual impact high and energy costs low.

Clever use of digital logic design allows for the multi-segment LED display to be controlled as a conventional seven segment design. This allows the displays to be changed in less than the blink of an eye.

Control and Input

Linnos user interfaces are end-user focused. No complicated and confusing keypads are required. All systems can be programmed using a custom infrared remote control.

For more remote locations, wired and wireless options are available for controlling the displays from a PC or industry standard automatic protocols.
